In 2005 my father passed away suddenly. An event that changed me forever. In the spring of 2006, the upcoming one year anniversary weighed heavily on me. I recorded several one take jam sessions. Late nights, restless mind, heavy heart.

I recall thinking about how my father had become read only. Locked in the memories of those that knew him. New data never to be written. Slowly eroded away by bit rot. It's something that's stuck with me. Read Only Memory.

June 8th, 2020 marks 15 years. An amount of time that seems impossibly short and incredibly long all at once. These recordings are an artifact of a difficult time. A monument to a father lost. A voice shouting from the dark, I remember.
